How It Works
Nereidonia Press operates a sliding-scale giving model: the more a title sells, the greater the share of proceeds directed to real-world cultural heritage organizations.
The purpose of the Nereidonian Canon is twofold: to encourage and promote exploration and appreciation of history, archaeology, and anthropology, and to give back — providing real material resources to the real-world Indigenous communities from which the Nereidonians draw inspiration.
In order to avoid extractive or exploitative storytelling, Nereidonia Press works in conjunction with the Nereidonian Heritage Initiative to donate 40%–60% of gross profits on a sliding scale based on sale volume per title in a given quarter.
Upon publication, 40% of gross proceeds are immediately designated to relevant cultural organizations.
Starting TierAs a title grows in sales volume, the designation increases to 50%, reflecting the project's expanding impact.
Mid TierHigh-performing titles that need less marketing momentum donate the majority of proceeds to beneficiaries.
Top TierThe Nereidonian Heritage Initiative offers multiple levels of involvement for beneficiary organizations. This level of involvement is voluntary, determined by the relevant organization, and open to modification at any time.
